Stainless Steel Scrap and Turnings

We have been international stainless steel traders for over 60 years, specialised in trading in 304 and 316 steel scrap and turnings, abt. thousands of tons a year, as well as in selling and purchasing all types of stainless steels, high-speed steels, super alloys and duplex steels.

We are working in close contact with the main European steelworks and we have established business relations in over 30 countries, which enables us to supply profitable quotations for a wide range of stainless steels in record time.

We strongly believe in the opportunities we are offered every day by the various markets where we operate and we firmly believe in the positive environmental impact - even in terms of energy saving - we can achieve by properly using metal scrap and through an efficient recycling process.

The “life cycle” of stainless steel represents one of its points of strength and the constant increase in using recycled material (stainless steel scrap and turnings) is one of the most efficient ways of dramatically reducing the environmental footprint generated by its production through a series of advantages that can be summed up here below:

  • conservation of non-renewable resources
  • energy saving
  • abatement of harmful gas emissions

the recycling rate of stainless steel stands at abt. 85% nowadays; however, there is still extensive room for improvement, above all in well-defined sectors.

As a matter of fact, whereas the average recycling rate exceeds 90% in some sectors, such as the building one, it can only reach 60% in others. In order to improve these percentages and improve the sustainability of many products, we have been making considerable progress - already in the design phase - for many years to encourage the recovery of valuable materials at the end of the “life cycle” of each product.

Giuliani Metalli has been supporting this process for over 60 years by assisting the metal industry in searching for the proper allocation of metal scrap and secondary raw materials.

Stainless steel is the term used to identify the family of steels having a min. 11% chrome content, which is of fundamental importance to grant the alloy high resistance to corrosion.
